Wycombe Abbey is an independent boarding and day school for girls aged between 10 and 18. It was founded in 1896 by Dame Frances Dove for the education of girls. The school’s aims are to pursue academic excellence; develop the talents of each pupil in creative, physical and social skills; and to encourage faith in God and service to other people. The school’s core values of trust, encouragement and mutual respect were chosen by the pupils. Through boarding, the school aims to provide opportunities for all pupils to maximise their potential.

The large majority of pupils come from professional backgrounds. Most are from London and the south-east and some come from overseas. Nationally standardised test data provided by the school indicate the ability of the pupils is well above average.
